Keinoshin and Shotaro are students who dedicate their after-school time to being Dark Hunters. In the world, both darkness and light coexist, and their mission is to maintain the equilibrium between the two. Kei and Sho were close friends in their childhood, but now they find themselves as hesitant partners. At school, they are perceived as opposites—cool and detached Sho versus cute and sociable Kei. Nevertheless, they must collaborate if they wish to combat the forces of darkness. The initial case in the manga focuses on the strange disappearance of numerous cats and dogs in their vicinity, while the subsequent case involves a young boy who can see the 'ghost' of an elderly homeless man he had formed a friendship with.
